Having very fine, low density hair, that gets overloaded with product so easily, my hair is somewhat frustrating and a challenge every day. Too much conditioner and it goes flat, too many products and it’s stringy looking. Wake up in the morning I look like a scarecrow, I really didn’t know what to use and what not to use because everyone with lovely curls seems to use everything and loads of it! I have to be really careful to use the tiniest amount of everything. About two months ago I was nearly ready to give up my curly journey, I’ve been on it for two years now and with each trim I could see my pre damaged straightened hair slowly being cut off and the waves and curls starting to show, this gave me hope especially when I got the odd good curly day I’d be so happy because a good curl day makes me look like I’ve got some extra hair with body. Anyway I’ve been through numerous curly brands, bought sooo many products and never really feeling I’d got it right, but just recently I thought I’m going to go back to basics and give it one last shot, I took away the, deep conditioners, leave in curl creams, gels and anything I thought might be too much for my hair, and try something much less producty and heavy, So now I only use Merwave shampoo, tiny amount of conditioner, which I have to use to comb out any knots, then use two to three pumps of number 4 cast foam worked all over my hair and scrunched , then using my microfiber towel gently blot the surplus water off, then spritz with refresh spray, scrunch again followed by my diffuser. I partially dry my hair , get dressed, makeup on and my hairs then normally dry. I feel a slight cast on my hair from the cast foam which seems enough to hold my waves for the day. I give a quick scrunch and fluff at my roots and now I seem to have, soft, defined waves and curls, much less producty and more defined . I’m so much more happier with it now, just hope my new regime keeps working.

So … I have been straightening my hair for years.. but have noticed since menopause my hair has become a bit thinner and wavy. I love merwave as it has made my hair regime straightforward and my hair has become more curly since I started using it. Love also the extras.. the lovely hair wrap and bath robe!!! I have been using Merwave products for about 5 months and my waves have never looked better. In fact for the first time in a long time, I let my natural waves shine. I use the wave cream, foam and gel (just a little bit of each) as part of my styling routine. I also have been using the Repair & Restore Plex Treatment once a week and it has made such a difference. My hair is softer and not frizzy. I have very thin hair and these products do not weigh my hair down. I also love the support you get with emails on styling and care tips for waves. I have tried some many other products in the past, from inexpensive to highly expensive, and Merwave ( which is reasonably priced for the results you get) is the end of my search. Highly recommend!

So after 40+ years of straightening and abusing my hair I decided to embrace my waves. I started with supermarket buyable brands because they were “cheap”, but they didn’t give lasting results. Then I tried another well advertised brand (that really wasn’t cheap) but it dried my hair out to the point of it breaking! Turns out even though advertised as for all curl types it really only was for 3b upwards!
So I reset and read up and decided to go for a curly cut to rid myself of damage and learn how to manage my wave patterns.

The microfibre towel is just perfect too! I can’t wait for the hair mask to be back in stock so I can add that in to treat my hair!
You can tell this is a lightweight well thought through brand, that works on waves and curls, it has light and refreshing not overpowering fragrance. It’s designed so you don’t need a lot of product at each step, so it will last a while. Each product I tried before this range caused scalp itching, this has caused no irritation at all.

So, my perimenpausal hair took my curls away and the curly products I was using just made my hair look lank and frizzy.
I decided to treat myself and give Merwave a go, buying the pack of 5 products (which came with a free intense conditioner) as well as buying the bonding shampoo, wide tooth comb, hair oil and microfibre towel.
Four weeks in, it's been a learning journey (who knew my hair needed protein) but my curls are BACK with a bang! My hair looks thicker, the frizz has minimised and it's a far happier head! I feel proud of my hair again, and a lot more confident too.

These products are amazing, they have literally changed my whole attitude to my curly hair. Previously it was a nuisance that had to be tamed, but now it is an asset to be celebrated - thank you so much Merwave for freeing me! I’m 68 years old and finally embracing what nature has given me, and the compliments have been rolling in, I won’t be going back to straightening any time soon.

Love these products, I’ve been using 1-5 for a while now and love that I can create waves that were never there before. My hair is getting healthier too (especially since the launch of the Plex treatment). Finding what works for you can take some time and sometimes you need to change your routine up a bit but definitely worth it. I heat-style my hair occasionally but love that I can go back to these products straight after to go back to beautiful natural waves.

I’ve always known I had wavy hair but never knew how to go with it-now I do thanks to Merwave! Go for it, you won’t regret it!
